Your tooth has been numbed and a small amount of decay has been removed and replaced with a tooth-coloured filling. Most people feel completely back to normal within a few hours.
Quick reference
- Wait until the numbness wears off (1–3 hours) before eating to avoid biting your lip, cheek, or tongue.
- Mild cold or pressure sensitivity for the first few days is normal as the tooth settles.
- If your bite feels uneven or 'high' once the numbness is gone, call us — a quick polish takes just a few minutes.
- Brush and floss normally tonight, including the filled tooth.
- Avoid very sticky candies for 24 hours.
Call us if you have concerns. Call us at 519-944-5757 if sensitivity is sharp, getting worse after 5–7 days, or if your bite feels off.
