Your new bridge replaces the missing tooth and is supported by the teeth on either side. It's cemented in place and looks and feels like your own teeth — with one small change to your cleaning routine.
Quick reference
- Wait until the numbness wears off before eating.
- For the first 24 hours, avoid sticky and very hard foods.
- Brush the bridge normally — but you can't pass regular floss between the bridge teeth. Use a floss threader, Super Floss, or a small interdental brush to clean under the false tooth daily.
- Mild gum tenderness around the bridge for a few days is normal as the area heals.
- Come in every 6 months so we can check the bridge and the supporting teeth.
