New dentures take a little practice — eating, speaking, and the way they feel will all settle over the next 2–4 weeks. The video above explains what to expect and how to look after them.

- Some sore spots in the first few days are common. If a spot is painful or doesn't improve, call us — a quick adjustment takes minutes.
- Start with soft foods cut into small pieces. Chew on both sides at the same time to keep the denture stable.
- Take the dentures out and brush them daily with a denture brush and mild soap or denture cleaner — never regular toothpaste (too abrasive).
- Soak them overnight in water or a denture-cleaning solution. Don't let acrylic dentures dry out.
- Even with no natural teeth, come in once a year so we can check your gums, jaw, and denture fit.
